Redhawks First Day Ends At Gladstein Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Southeast Missouri completed the first day of the Gladstein Invitational at Indiana University on Friday.

Macy Ritter was the lone Redhawk to compete in the women's pentathlon, earning sixth with 3112 points.

Kaitlyn Shea earned Southeast's top time in the 3000m, taking ninth at 10:10.05. Angela Sumner finished close behind with the time of 10:14.93.

Cheyanne Tunti finished ninth in a close 400m contest with a time of 56.87.

On the men's side, Jason Walker set a personal best for indoor shot put at 14.67m, finishing 10th in the event.

Marc Maton captured second in the 3000m, nearly setting a new school record. His time of 8:18.18 was .74 seconds behind Brian Radle's time set in 1989.

With a time of 4:23.36, Dan Plunkett finished 10th in the mile run.

Jordan Barber set a new personal record of 48.72 in the 400m Dash, taking fourth place. Jarred Pasley followed closely taking fifth with a time of 48.76.

Chris Martin made his 60m Dash season debut with a time of 7.00, finishing just outside the top ten (12th).

In pole vault, Christian Locke tied for fifth at a height of 4.81m.

Day two of the Gladstein Invitational will continue tomorrow starting at 9 a.m. CT.
