Golden Eagles Deal Redhawks 91-55 Loss

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Aleksa Jugovic scored a game-high 27 points and made seven 3-pointers to lead Tennessee Tech (13-6, 5-1) to a lopsided 91-55 win over Southeast Missouri (2-16, 0-6) Saturday night at the Eblen Center.

TTU opened the game on a 12-0 run in the first 3:23 as Southeast struggled to get shots to fall with misses on seven-straight field goal attempts.

Southeast trailed, 14-5, at the 14:49 mark when the Golden Eagles came out of a media timeout to ambush the Redhawks with five 3-pointers over the next 3:16. Jukovic knocked down a trey on four of TTU's six possessions during that stretch and the Golden Eagles pulled ahead, 29-9, with 11:33 left to play.

Trey Kellum's jumper with 8:13 on the clock was Southeast's last basket for a lengthy 5:48 as TTU took a 51-21 lead at the half.

Jukovic scored all but two of his points in TTU's scorching first half. He shot 75 percent (9-of-12) from the field and buried all of his threes in the stanza. The Golden Eagles shot 59.4 percent (19-of-32) from the floor in the game's first 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, Southeast's 23.5 percent (8-of-34) clip was its lowest field goal percentage in a first half this season. The Redhawks made only one 3-pointer (1-of-12), as well.

Southeast regrouped to shoot 43.8 percent (14-of-32) from the field in the second half, but had no answer for TTU which never let up.

Kellum led the Redhawks with 18 points, outscoring the rest of Southeast's starters who combined for 12. Freshman Tony Anderson followed with 10 points, all in the second half. It was Anderson's fourth-straight game scoring double figures off the bench.

Fellow freshman Jaylin Stewart added a season-high eight points and eight rebounds.

Jukovic finished his night at 9-of-13 from the field, 7-of-11 from 3-point range and 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He played 16 of his 23 minutes in the first half.

Anthony Morse pitched in 15 points and Mason Ramsey contributed 10 points and seven rebounds. Additionally, Torrance Rowe dished out 12 assists.

TTU wound up shooting 54.8 percent (34-of-62) for the game.

"I'm really disappointed," said Southeast head coach Rick Ray. "We have to have pride in our offense, defense, and most importantly, Southeast Missouri State. We need to understand who we are and know our limitations."

Southeast steps out of Ohio Valley Conference play to host Hannibal-LaGrange on Jan. 19. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., CT, at the Show Me Center.
