Southeast Drops Two Matches in Louisiana

Southeast Missouri (1-12) dropped a pair of matches, losing to Nicholls State (8-2), 3-0, and Southeastern Louisiana (7-2), 6-0, Tuesday.
A total of four singles matches were unfinished as Nicholls State scored two of its points when Isla Brock defeated Viviana Ortiz, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 and K. Nakonechna beat Maria Montenegro, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4. The Colonels earned their final point when they secured wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions.
Southeast and Southeastern Louisiana played six singles matches only and the Lions took all six of those bouts in straight sets. Mariya Kostyuk, Ortiz, Kateryna Stoianova, Montenegro, Anna Makhneva and Annisa Warasanti each suffered losses.
The Redhawks will play their 14th-straight road match at Northwestern State Wednesday.
