NATCHITOCHES, La. - Southeast Missouri (1-13) fell to Northwestern State (7-6) by a score of 6-1 Thursday.
Southeast scored its only point when Maria Montenegro defeated Barbara Kollarova, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 4 singles. The Redhawks lost in straight sets at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles. Annisa Warasanti lost to Kateryna Piatakova in a three-set thriller, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-5).
In doubles, the Demons won at all three spots to secure the point.
The Redhawks host Jacksonville State in their first home match of the season Sunday.
