Redhawks Take on EKU Thursday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri will bring its three-game road swing to a close on Thursday when it takes on the Eastern Kentucky Colonels. The Redhawks and Colonels will kick off at 3 p.m., CT.

The Redhawks are 7-2-1 against EKU all-time. The Redhawks have not been beaten by the Colonels since Oct. 25, 2009. The Redhawks defeated EKU, 1-0, a season ago in Cape Girardeau.

Assistant Coach Adam Kleman returns to his alma mater and former team for the first time since joining the Redhawks staff in 2014. Kleman was a graduate assistant coach with EKU from 2012-13.

Let's Review
Southeast Missouri dropped a pair of road matches last week in its second week of Ohio Valley Conference play. The Redhawks were shutout by Austin Peay Friday evening, 2-0. In Sunday's match at Murray State, the Redhawks found themselves down 4-0 at halftime to the Racers. Southeast's lone goal of the weekend came from Jenna Collingridge in the 77th minute to bring the score to 4-1. The score would stand and the Redhawks fell to the Racers for the first time since 2009.

Scouting the Opponents
Eastern Kentucky Colonels (1-11, 1-3 OVC)
Eastern Kentucky fell at Tennessee Tech and Morehead State last week. Jordan Foster scored the lone goal of the week for the Colonels while Logan Harvey provided the assist. The Colonels started the season 0-9 before picking up their lone win against Austin Peay on Sept. 27, 1-0.

Looking Ahead
The Redhawks return home for a pair of matches over Homecoming weekend. Southeast kicks the Homecoming games off on Oct. 16 against Belmont at 6:30 p.m. Friday's match will feature Howlin' at Houck sponsored by Mississippi Mutts. Fans and their four-legged Redhawk fans can enjoy the match from the East End Zone. There will be sample dog treats and Mississippi Mutts will be collecting supplies and pet food to donate to the Southeast Missouri Humane Society. Southeast will welcome Jacksonville State that Sunday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. The weekend will also kick off the Redhawks' Pink Up campaign.
