CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Southeast Missouri travels to Tennessee Tech on Saturday for its first road Ohio Valley Conference match. The match will be broadcasted live on the OVC Digital Network beginning at 2 p.m.
The Redhawks enter the match coming off a three-game home stand in which they went 1-2 to open OVC play. The Redhawks are now 5-11 on the season.
During the home stand,
Nzingha Clarke tallied 29 kills (.375 attack percentage) while averaging 1.20 blocks per set. Clarke's season attack percentage of .327 currently ranks third in the league.
Jade Mortimer is ranked second in the OVC in digs per set (4.45), accumulating 267 digs on the season. The home stand also saw the season debuts of

Scouting the Golden EaglesTTU is 1-2 in conference play and 3-13 overall. The Golden Eagles opened conference play with losses to Eastern Illinois and Jacksonville State with a five-set victory over SIUE. The Redhawks have won the past six meetings, dating back to Nov. 13, 2010. Senior Cody Dodd leads TTU this season with 234 kills, averaging 4.11 per set.
Dig For LifeThe beginning of October marks the start of the annual Dig for Life campaign, which coincides with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In partnership with Saint Francis Medical Center, the campaign aims at educating women in the Southeast Missouri area about breast cancer awareness, providing early detection opportunities and improving prevention efforts. The Dig for Life campaign was started in 2000 by former head volleyball coach and current Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator
Cindy Gannon. Dig for Life has been able to provide over 2,000 mammograms to area women who could not receive this screening due to lack of adequate health insurance, high deductibles, unemployment or inability to pay.
Looking AheadThe Redhawks will hit the road to play non-conference opponent Western Illinois on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. Southeast returns to conference play Oct. 9 and 10 against Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State.
