Ohio 'Volley' Conference SeasonThe Southeast Missouri Redhawks volleyball team is set to open Ohio Valley Conference play on the road this weekend. Southeast will head to Murray, Kentucky for a showdown with the Murray State Racers Friday followed by a matchup with the Austin Peay Lady Govs on Saturday. Both matches can be viewed for free on the OVC Digital Network and live stats will be available for both.

Looking BackSoutheast Missouri fell to UMKC and Southern Illinois last week. Senior
Andrea Baylin recorded her sixth double-double of the season versus Southern Illinois with a career-high 27 kills to go with 19 digs. She also hit .261 in the match. Junior
Taylor Masterson tallied 10 blocks over the two matches. Against SIU, she recorded six blocks and 15 kills while hitting .262.

Offensive ProwessHeading into conference play, the Redhawks are sporting the fourth-best team hitting percentage in the league with .193.
Taylor Masterson (.331) and
Kelsey Keeve (.328) rank fourth and fifth individually in hitting percentage. Kill-wise, the Redhawks rank eighth with 11.82 kills per set.
Andrea Baylin is tenth in the league with 2.94 kills per set.

Houck 'FILLED' HouseThe Southeast Missouri volleyball team set a new attendance record Sunday, Sept. 21 when they hosted Southern Illinois in the second annual Houck 'FILLED' House event. The previous record of 1,168 had stood since 1993. A new record of 1,206 Redhawk fans filled the seats Sunday.

Soucting the RacersMurray State dropped its first matches of the season as it went 0-3 at the Valparaiso Tournament. The Racers fell to Valpo, George Washington and Sacramento State. Junior Taylor Olden recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 15 digs versus Valpo. She finished the week with 27 kills. Sophomore Ellie Lorenz posted a career-high 25 digs against Valparaiso and Sacramento State. She added 12 digs in the George Washington match. Junior Sam Bedard posted a double-double against Valpo with 45 assists and 25 digs. On the week, she dished out 106 digs.

Scouting the Lady GovsAustin Peay fell to Chattanooga at home before going 3-1 at the DISH Lady Vol Classic. The Lady Govs earned wins over host Tennessee, Montana State and Mercer and fell to Memphis. The win over UT marked the first victory over the Lady Vols in program history. Senior Jada Stotts was named to the all-tournament team after posting 64 kills and a .315 attack percentage in the four matches. She had 17 kills and a .424 attack percentage in the win over Tennessee. She posted five double-doubles during the week. Stotts needs just five kills to become the 13th Lady Govs hitter to record 1,000 career kills. She also has 941 career digs to rank 23rd among APSU players. Junior April Adams tallied 78 digs last week, posting a career-high 22 versus Montana State. Junior Aubrey Marsellis also earned all-tournament team honors after posting 150 assists, 17 kills and 12 blocks during the tourney. Freshman Ashley Slay recorded 35 kills and a .222 attack percentage while also leading the team with 14 blocks during the Lady Vol Classic.

Records AgainstMurray - 51-21Southeast and Murray split their meetings of the regular season in 2013. The Redhawks swept the Racers in Murray but fell at home in five sets.
Austin Peay - 34-22Southeast Missouri and Austin Peay split in the regular season in 2013. The Lady Govs won in four at home and the Redhawks swept the Lady Govs on senior night at Houck Field House. The teams met again in the first round of the OVC Tournament when Austin Peay knocked out Southeast in four sets.

Setting UpOVC play continues when the Redhawks travel to Martin, Tennessee to take on the UT Martin Skyhawks Tuesday, Sept. 30. Southeast returns home Oct. 3 when Tennessee Tech comes to town. The Redhawks will kick off Homecoming weekend as well as the 2014 Dig for Life campaign all on Oct. 3 against the Golden Eagles.
