Information GuideQuick Kicks• Southeast Missouri enters Friday's contest with a 2-3 overall record. The Redhawks opened the regular season with victories over Missouri-St. Louis and UC Davis before falling in the last three matches at Northern Colorado, vs. Illinois State and at Evansville.

• On Wednesday evening, Southeast was beaten 1-0 at Evansville. In a match that was scoreless until the 80th minute, the Purple Aces pulled ahead on a late goal that proved to be the difference. The teams tied with eight shots each while Southeast had a 3-2 edge in shots on goal and 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

• Southeast is 6-0-1 all-time against Arkansas State. In a series that dates back to 2000, Southeast won the first six meetings. About Arkansas State: The Red Wolves are 2-5 overall including a 1-3 mark at the Arkansas State Soccer Complex. After opening the season with a 3-2 victory at Murray State (8/22), A-State has dropped five of the next six matches. They were outscored 11-1 during a four-game losing streak in matches at home against Tulsa (8/24), Central Arkansas (8/31), Mississippi State (9/4) and on the road at Missouri State (9/7). In their last two contests, they defeated Mississippi Valley State 5-1 (9/12) and fell 1-0 in double overtime at Southern Mississippi (9/14). Four Redhawks Named to All-Tournament Team: Following the Falcon Invitational hosted by the United States Air Force Academy on Sept. 5-7, four Southeast players earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team that was voted on by the participating coaches.

D Valeria Jaramillo and
D Christina Rohde all received the honor. Beine and Brendel both scored goals in the 2-0 victory vs. UC Davis while Jaramillo and Rohde led a defensive unit that surrendered just one goal against two formidable opponents.

Lierz Earns First OVC Weekly Recognition: Freshman
GK Kindra Lierz was voted Ohio Valley Conference Co-Goalkeeper of the Week following the team's first full weekend of play at the Air Force Academy Falcon Invitational. She posted her second consecutive shutout vs. UC Davis and allowed just one goal at Northern Colorado. Lierz began her collegiate career by going 228:19 before allowing a goal.

Redhawks Strike Fast: After seeing the season opener vs. Missouri-St. Louis on Aug. 29 go scoreless for 70-plus minutes, Southeast then scored twice within a 27-second span in the 74th minute. Senior
MF Torey Byrd scored the first goal on a penalty kick after senior
F Breana Beine was taken down in the box. After play resumed, Byrd then used a header to push the ball ahead to assist sophomore
F Natasha Minor, who got the ball around a challenging UMSL goalkeeper who contested the shot near the front edge of the goalie box.

Non-Conference Opener Cancelled: Due to extreme heat, the regular season opener at UT Martin was cancelled on Aug. 24. Scheduled as a non-conference matchup against an Ohio Valley Conference opponent, there have since been no plans announced for a makeup date. The teams will compete in OVC action on Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. from Missouri National Guard Field at Houck Stadium in Cape Girardeau.

Looking Ahead: Southeast begins Ohio Valley Conference play on Friday, Sept. 26 with a 3 p.m. matchup at Eastern Illinois. The Redhawks will host UT Martin on Friday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. and Murray State on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. during Homecoming Weekend from Missouri National Guard Field at Houck Stadium.
