Live StatsCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (8-30, 2-16) plays its final Ohio Valley Conference road series of the season when it visits UT Martin (23-24-1, 10-9) this weekend. The Redhawks and Skyhawks open a three-game set with a 1 p.m., CT, doubleheader Saturday.
Southeast recently snapped a season-long 13-game losing streak when it split a doubleheader at Saint Louis Wednesday. The Redhawks are now looking to put an end to their 12-game losing skid in OVC play. Southeast last beat a league opponent on Mar. 29 (Austin Peay, 13-4).
Haylee Krack boosted her batting average by 20 points this week after hitting .571 (4-for-7) with a pair of two-run home runs, a double and four RBI against Saint Louis. Krack ended a seven-game slump where she did not have a hit. She is now third on the team with a .291 clip.
UTM has stumbled as of late, losing seven of its last eight games. That stretch came after the Skyhawks had won eight in a row. UTM, which is fourth in the OVC West Division standings, is one of the conference's top home run hitting teams. The Skyhawks are currently tied for third with 26 round-trippers.
The Skyhawks have a six-game winning streak in their all-time series against the Redhawks. UTM swept Southeast in three games during the 2012 season and beat the Redhawks in a doubleheader a year ago.
