ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Haylee Krack narrowly missed hitting for the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a pair of two-run home runs, a double, three runs scored and four RBI to lead Southeast Missouri (8-30) to a 9-7 win over Saint Louis (21-19) Wednesday. The Redhawks battled back after dropping game one, 8-0.

Southeast ended a 13-game losing streak and picked up its first win since Mar. 29. The Redhawks also snapped a streak of seven-consecutive series losses.

Southeast took a 3-0 lead in top of the first when Savannah Carpenter singled home a run and Krack delivered a two-out homer to center.

After SLU answered with five runs in the bottom half of the inning, the Redhawks tied the game on Krack's second home run in the third. Krack again cleared the wall in center to knot things up at 5-5.

Jamie Woodworth, who doubled and advanced to third on a wild pitch, scored when Carpenter lined out to center field to give Southeast a 6-5 edge in the fifth.

The Billikens, however, regained the lead on a pair of two-out singles by Ellie Huffman and Elizabeth Everingham.

SLU's one-run advantage didn't last long as Southeast countered with three unanswered runs, including two in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Meaghan Touchette's sacrifice fly scored Leah Duffe and Renee Terry knocked in the go-ahead run on a base hit to center in the sixth. Lindsey Patterson scored the Redhawks final run on a wild pitch in the seventh.

The Billikens made things interesting during their last at-bat when they had the bases loaded with one out. Hannah Durham pitched out of the jam when Mackenzie Peter hit into a fielder's choice and pinch-hitter Macie Wheeler grounded out.

Keaira Schilling (3-13) was credited with the win. Schilling relieved Aubrey Denno who gave up seven runs on five hits in 4.2 innings. Denno also walked four and struck out two.

Hannah Durham picked up her second save of the season after getting out of the seventh inning unscathed.

Laney Kneib (4-8) took the loss. Kneib struck out one, walked four and allowed eight runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings.

Southeast outhit the Billikens, 9-8, with Krack and Woodworth accounting for six of the hits. Woodworth finished a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk, two doubles and three runs scored.

SLU used a five-run first inning and a strong pitching performance by Brianna Lore to key its six-inning shutout in game one.

Lore (17-11) struck out six, walked four and fell one out shy of a no-hitter. She did not allow a hit until Krack singled down the left field line in the top of the sixth. It was Lore's second shutout and 24th complete game of the season.

The Billikens quickly loaded the bases after Alex Nickel and Huffman walked and Lindsay Friedman reached on a bunt single. Kelsey Biggs followed with a double to left center, knocking in both Nickel and Huffman. Lore drew the third walk against Schilling, who was then relieved by Durham.

After getting Everingham to line out to second for the first out of the inning, Durham gave up a two-RBI double to Mackenzie Peter on the next play. Madeline Brungardt's two-out infield single pushed across one more run to give SLU a 5-0 advantage.

The Billikens added another run in each of the third, fifth and sixth innings.

Biggs scored an unearned run when Peter grounded out in the third and Brittany Durant touched home when Hailey Weavers grounded out in the fifth. Biggs later drove in Friedman on her second double of the game with one out in the sixth.

Schilling gave up five runs, walked three and allowed two hits before leaving the game without recording an out. All five of the hitters Schilling faced reached base.

Durham scattered six hits, allowed three runs and walked three in 5.2 innings.

Southeast returns to Ohio Valley Conference action at UT Martin. The Redhawks and Skyhawks open a three-game series with a 1 p.m., CT, doubleheader Saturday.
