Southeast hosts North Dakota State Tuesday
Live Stats

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (5-8) begins its spring break with a non-conference matchup against North Dakota State (15-9) Tuesday. The Redhawks and Bison will play one game starting at 2 p.m., CT.

Tuesday's matchup marks the first of nine scheduled contests Southeast has over the next six days. This year marks the first meeting between the Redhawks and NDSU.

Southeast recently split a doubleheader with Missouri-St. Louis to snap a four-game losing streak on Mar. 15. The Redhawks had 10-straight games cancelled due to inclement weather prior to that twin bill. Savannah Carpenter continues to lead Southeast with a .487 batting average. Carpenter carries a four-game hitting streak into this week and has collected multiple-hits in five of her last seven starts. She ranks fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference in batting average. As a team, Southeast is fourth in the conference with a .274 clip.

NDSU, which has been on the road for all 24 of its games this season, comes to Cape Girardeau after winning three of its last four contests. The Bison, who are 11-4 in their last 15 games, have travelled to Auburn, Ala., Tallahassee, Fla., Houston, Texas, Albuquerque, N.M., Palo Alto, Calif., Champaign, Ill. and Columbia, Mo. so far this year.
Five NDSU players are hitting .321 or better this season with Cheyenne Garcia paving the way with a .370 batting average. Amanda Grable leads the Bison with 20 RBI. Pitching wise, NDSU is led by Krista Menke (10-3) who is tied for second in the Summit League in wins.

After Tuesday's game, Southeast heads to Indiana State (Mar. 19), Evansville (Mar. 20), Eastern Kentucky (Mar. 22) and Morehead State (Mar. 23).
