CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri volleyball fell to Austin Peay Friday evening in three sets (20-25, 21-25, 28-30).

The Redhawks fall to 10-17 on the season and 6-7 in Ohio Valley Conference play with only three matches remaining in the regular-season. Austin Peay climbs to 14-15, 8-5 OVC.

The Lady Govs took a lead and held on the entire set to take the opening stanza by a score of 25-20. Senior
Alex Rohlfing made her first start since Oct. 17 in the match. The Redhawks put up a match-best four blocks in the opening stanza.

Austin Peay didn't trail for long in the second set and quickly took a lead in the set. The Redhawks stayed hot on the Lady Govs' tail throughout the set. Austin Peay won set two, 25-21, and went up 2-0 in the match.

The Redhawks came out to play coming out of the intermission. Both teams found themselves all level a whopping 17 times in the third set. The Redhawks were able to find their first substantial lead of the match late in the set. The Redhawks found themselves up five points at 21-16 but Austin Peay used a 7-2 run to tie it up at 23. This would continue well into extra points as the Redhawks played their longest set of the season. Despite Southeast putting up the better offense in the set, the Redhawks fell, 30-28. Southeast posted a .245 hitting percentage in the set to the Lady Govs' .173.

Taylor Masterson each laid down 10 kills in the match.

Haley Roberts entered the third set of Friday evening's match wearing the Libero jersey for the first time this season. Roberts had six digs and four assists in the set.

The Redhawks return to action Saturday at home against top-ranked Murray State at 2 p.m. Southeast Missouri will celebrate four seniors prior to first serve.Â
