• Southeast Missouri earned the No. 1 seed in the OVC Soccer Championship, the right to host the tournament on-campus and was awarded a regular season co-championship along with No. 2 seed SIU Edwardsville after a 2-1 victory at SIUE last Friday to conclude the regular season.

• All students with a valid ID from OVC member institutions will be admitted free of charge to the three-day tournament at Missouri National Guard Field at Houck Stadium on the Southeast campus. Games will be played at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on both Thursday, Nov. 6 and Friday, Nov. 7 with the tournament championship slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9. The winner of the six-team tournament earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

• The Redhawks have now won five OVC regular season titles in the 16-year program. Southeast also won two OVC Tournament championships in back-to-back fashion in 2006 and 2007. Southeast is 10-8-3 all-time in the OVC Tournament and 5-2-2 in games played at Houck Stadium. The Redhawks won the 2007 OVC Soccer Championship at home when they defeated Samford on penalty kicks.

• Southeast has won six straight games - all during OVC play - dating back to Oct. 12. The Redhawks have allowed just two goals during that span, outscoring opponents 11-2. Southeast is on its longest winning streak since winning seven straight from Oct. 11–Nov. 8, 2002.

• As a team, the Redhawks rank 18th nationally in save percentage (.859), 33rd in the country in goals against average (.685) and 44th in shutout percentage (.500). True freshman
GK Kindra Lierz ranks 31st nationally in save percentage (.853) and 34th in the nation in goals against average (.685). She became the first player in conference history to earn OVC Defensive Player and Freshman of the Year in the same season.

About Jacksonville State: The #5 Gamecocks defeated #4 UT Martin by a 4-3 margin in penalty kicks on Thursday evening after the teams played to a 1-1 tie through double overtime. Jax State won the shootout in dramatic fashion as they inserted backup
GK Katie Thomas for the penalty kicks to replace starting
GK Caroline Robinson, who had played all 110 minutes and made eight saves, including many crucial stops in the second half and overtime periods. Thomas made two saves on UT Martin penalty kick attempts, and with the shootout tied at 3-3, Robinson stepped up and delivered the deciding successful PK attempt to send JSU into tonight's second round matchup with Southeast Missouri.
F Lindsey Jackson scored the game's first goal in the 32nd minute on a shot to the far post from 15 yards out.
F Courtney Hurt recorded a game-best four shots and three shots on goal. Hurt leads the Gamecocks with 10 goals, eight assists, 28 points and 28 shots on goal for the season.
F Kelsey Bright has also notched 10 goals to go along with six assists, 46 shots and 25 shots on goal.
MF Jackie Rush has added eight goals, four assists, a team-best 55 shots and 26 shots on goal.

MF Jenna Collingridge scored her first two career goals and
GK Kindra Lierz posted one of her eight shutouts on the season and five during OVC play, recording three saves in the contest.

Five Redhawks Earn All-OVC Honors: Five Southeast players received All-Ohio Valley Conference recognition at the OVC Soccer Championship banquet on Wednesday evening.
GK Kindra Lierz became the first student-athlete in conference history to receive OVC Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the same season.
F Natasha Minor joined Lierz in receiving first-team All-OVC recognition while
F Breana Beine and
D Christina Rohde were named second-team All-OVC.
D Valeria Jaramillo joined Lierz on the OVC All-Newcomer Team.

Rohde Named OVC Defender of the Week: Sophomore
D Christina Rohde received her third career OVC weekly honor and first of 2014 as she was named Defender of the Week following last week's 2-1 victory at SIU Edwardsville. Rohde assisted on the game-winning goal at SIUE with just over five minutes remaining when she nearly scored on a free kick that was rolling near the goal line when
MF Torey Byrd found the net to give the Redhawks the No. 1 seed in the OVC Tournament and right to host. Rohde has played 1,413 minutes on the year, spending only 35 field minutes away from the pitching during the 2014 season. She became the fifth Redhawks player to earn OVC weekly recognition as

F Natasha Minor have also been recipients of conference honors.

Offense Totals Season-High in Shots: In the 2-0 victory over Tennessee Tech on Oct. 24, the Redhawks achieved a season-best with 26 shots.
