Then There Were TwoThe Southeast Missouri volleyball team will begin the final week of the regular-season with a home match Tuesday against UT Martin. The Redhawks enter the week tied for eighth with SIUE at 6-8. The top-eight teams earn a spot in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Nov. 20-24 in Murray, Kentucky. First serve against UT Martin is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Looking BackSoutheast Missouri fell to Austin Peay and Murray State both in three sets last week. Junior
Taylor Masterson led the team with 17 kills and a .359 attack percentage last week. She also had five blocks over the two matches. Freshman
Nzingha Clarke recorded 10 blocks in six sets last week. She had seven blocks versus Murray State.

Building BlocksIn OVC games, Southeast is averaging 2.59 blocks per set as a team; over half a block per set more than Morehead State with 2.16. Individually,
Nzingha Clarke and
Taylor Masterson have been forces to reckon with on the net. Clarke leads the OVC with 1.22 blocks per set while Masterson ranks third with 1.13 blocks per set. The Redhawks are also holding their conference opponents to a .188 hitting percentage due in part to their blocking game.

Offensive ProwessThe Redhawks' .207 OVC hitting percentage ranks fifth in the league. Individually, two Redhawks rank in the top ten of the OVC in hitting percentage.
Taylor Masterson's .366 average is the best in the league. Senior
Kelsey Keeve is also a top-ten hitter with a .293 hitting clip this conference season.

Scouting the SkyhawksUT Martin fell to Murray State before defeating Austin Peay last week. Senior Emily Keaton tallied a match-high 13 kills to go with 11 digs and a .440 attack percentage versus the Lady Govs. It marked her 13th double-double of the season. She finished the week with 18 kills and a .429 attack percentage. Junior Chelsea Bowles recorded 38 digs last week, including 23 versus Austin Peay. Junior Amanda Crask took over a setter midway through the second set versus Murray State and finished the week with 37 assists while posting a .529 attack percentage. Alisha Evans averaged 1.17 blocks per set last week while Allie Whimpey put up 12 kills and a .321 hitting percentage in the win over Austin Peay.

Record AgainstUT Martin - 56-17The Redhawks lost a close five-set match in Martin, Tennessee on Sept. 30 (25-23, 23-25, 21-25, 25-18, 14-16). Statistically, the Redhawks won the match but Southeast could not close sets when they needed to most.

Setting UpSoutheast Missouri will bring the regular-season to a close Saturday at Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks are currently tied for fourth with Austin Peay at 8-6 entering the final week of the season. The Redhawks and Gamecocks start at noon Saturday.
