Carrying A Lot of MomentumThe Southeast Missouri volleyball team will bring their five-match home stand to a close this weekend when they host Tennessee State Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Belmont on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Redhawks have won their last three Ohio Valley Conference matches and carry a lot of momentum into the second half of OVC play. Saturday's match will be streamed for free to the OVC Digital Network.

Dig For Life Southeast Missouri will honor breast cancer survivors during Friday's match. Breast cancer survivors will receive free admission to Fridays' match. The Dig For Life campaign was started by former head volleyball coach and current Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator
Cindy Gannon to raise breast cancer awareness and promote early detection. Money raised through Dig For Life helps provide mammograms for women who otherwise cannot afford them.
Halloween at HouckSoutheast Missouri will host Halloween at Houck before Friday's match. Trick or Treating will begin at 5:30 p.m. with games and face painting for kids ages 14 and under. Kids wearing costumes will receive free admission and will be eligible for the costume contest.Â

Looking BackSoutheast Missouri fell to Missouri State before picking up wins over SIUE and Eastern Illinois last week. Junior
Taylor Masterson had 35 kills over the three matches, including a 16-kill performance against EIU. She also hit .609 with four blocks versus the Panthers. She finished the week with 13 total blocks. Freshman
Nzingha Clarke tallied 16 blocks last week. Against EIU, she had eight blocks. Sophomore
Katarina Rotta had 109 assists over the three matches. She had 52 assists in the win over Eastern Illinois. Rotta also had 23 digs on the week.

Building BlocksIn OVC games, Southeast is averaging 2.78 blocks per set as a team; over half a block per set more than Morehead State with 2.21. Individually,
Nzingha Clarke and
Taylor Masterson have been forces to reckon with on the net. Clarke ranks first in OVC games with 1.37 blocks per set while Masterson is right behind with 1.19. The Redhawks are also holding their conference opponents to a .175 hitting percentage due in part to their blocking game.

"Middle" of the OffenseThe Redhawks' .218 OVC hitting percentage ranks fourth in the league. Individually, three Redhawks stand atop the OVC in hitting percentage, two of which are middle blockers.
Taylor Masterson's .403 average is the best in the league. Masterson is followed by
Kelsey Keeve (.352) and
Nzingha Clarke (.323).

1,000 Dig ClubSenior outside hitter
Andrea Baylin recorded her 1,000th career dig against Morehead State Saturday. Baylin ticked over the milestone during the third set against the Eagles. Baylin finished the match with 17 digs and nine kills.

Scouting the TigersTennessee State fell to Austin Peay and Murray State last week. Haley Hampton and Arijana Anderson led the team with 15 kills each over the two matches. Samantha Beltran dished out a team-high 51 assists while Naomi Wells recorded 25 digs to pace the squad. The Tigers rebounded with a five-set win against UT Martin Tuesday.

Scouting the BruinsBelmont fell to Murray State before defeating Austin Peay last week. Freshman Arianna Person recorded a pair of double-doubles. She had 14 kills and 11 digs against Murray State. She followed that up with 19 kills and 14 digs with a .386 hitting percentage against Austin Peay. She also added three service aces versus APSU. Freshman Emma Price had 78 assists over the two matches, including a match-high 49 in the win over the Lady Govs.

Records AgainstTennessee State - 39-7Southeast defeated the Tigers in four sets last season in Nashville, Tennessee.
Belmont - 2-3The Redhawks and Bruins have only met a total of five times. Southeast lost in four to Belmont last season in Nashville.

Setting UpSoutheast returns to the road when they head to SIUE and Eastern Illinois Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Southeast defeated the Cougars and Panthers at home last weekend.
