• Southeast Missouri enters Friday's Ohio Valley Conference opener with a 4-3-0 overall record and 1-0 mark in conference play. Led by two goals in the first 26 minutes from sophomore F
Natasha Minor, the Redhawks notched a 4-0 shutout at Eastern Illinois on Sept. 26 in the opening game of the OVC season.

Heather Nelson will register her 150th since beginning the Southeast Missouri women's soccer program in 1999.

• Southeast is 10-5-4 all-time against UT Martin and 10-6-0 vs. Murray State. UT Martin has won the last two contests in the series in double overtime. Prior to that, Southeast won by 1-0 margins in both 2010 and 2011. The Redhawks have won four in a row against Murray State, outscoring the Racers 12-1 during that span. The last time the squads squared off in Cape Girardeau, Southeast scored six times in the first half during a 6-0 shutout on Sept. 28, 2012. Senior MF

• Dual admission will be offered on Friday evening to the Southeast soccer and volleyball contests. Tickets will be good for both matches. Southeast volleyball takes on Tennessee Tech at 6 p.m. at Houck Field House.

• The first 200 fans on Sunday will receive a free custard cup courtesy of Andy's Frozen Custard.

• Kids will gain free admission to Sunday's contest by wearing a youth soccer jersey.

• Following Sunday's game, kids ages 5-14 will have the opportunity to participate in a kids camp hosted by the Redhawks soccer coaches immediately following the match. The camp will last approximately 45 minutes. Participants need to bring their own cleats and shin guards.

About UT Martin: The Skyhawks are 7-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in OVC play. They dropped their conference opener 2-1 in overtime at Jacksonville State on Sept. 26 and defeated Tennessee Tech 5-1 at home on Sept. 28. Senior F Ashlie Watson and Junior F Rianna Jarrett are tied for the team-lead with six goals each. Senior GK Mariah Klenke boasts a 0.72 goals against average, which ranks second in the OVC behind Southeast freshman GK
Kindra Lierz (0.71). Klenke leads the OVC in shutouts (5) and save percentage (.869) with Lierz ranking second with four shutouts and an .853 save percentage.

About Murray State: Heading into the weekend, the Racers are 6-5-0 overall and are the only OVC team with a perfect 2-0-0 record. They won home contests vs. Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State by 3-0 margins on Sept. 26 and 28, respectively. Senior F/MF Julie Mooney leads the OVC with eight goals and three game-winners. Mooney ranks second in the conference in shots (48), shots per game (4.32), points (17), points per game (1.55) and goals per game (0.73). Freshman GK Shelby Haworth has allowed eight goals in eight games with three shutouts. She has recorded a 0.99 goals against average and .795 save percentage.

Minor Voted adidas® OVC Offensive Player of the Week: Sophomore F
Natasha Minor set career-highs with two goals, five points, six shots and four shots on goal in the 4-0 victory at Eastern Illinois to open conference play on Sept. 26 and was unanimously voted this week's adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week. She scored twice in the first 26 minutes of the match and later added an assist in the 67th minute. It was the first weekly conference honor of Minor's career. Through 22 career games, Minor ranks second in program history in assists per game (0.32), fifth in points per game (0.95), sixth in shots on goal per game (1.23), seventh in goals per game (0.32) and ninth in shots per game (2.14). She has seven goals and seven assists in her career.

Beine Posts Hat Trick, Ties School Record: In the 3-0 victory at Arkansas State on Sept. 19, senior F
Breana Beine tied a school record with three goals. She earned the trifecta in the game's first 33 minutes, marking the 10th hat trick in the program's 16-year history and first since F Ashley Runion achieved the feat on Aug. 27, 2010 vs. Alabama A&M.

Lierz Impressive Early On: Freshman GK
Kindra Lierz has posted a shutout in four of her first seven career matches, including the last two contests at Arkansas State and at Eastern Illinois. Lierz began her collegiate career by going 228:19 before allowing a goal and was voted adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Co-Goalkeeper of the Week following the team's first full weekend of play at the Air Force Academy Falcon Invitational. She has two straight shutouts and has not allowed a goal in 190:33 of play heading into Friday's match with UT Martin. Lierz leads the OVC with a 0.71 goals against average. She was the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 3 Goalkeeper of the Year at Glendale High School in Springfield, Mo., last year.

Looking Ahead: Southeast will play two more OVC matches next weekend. On Friday, Oct. 10, Austin Peay will visit Houck Stadium for a 6:30 p.m. start. The Redhawks will then travel to Belmont on Sunday, Oct. 12 for a 2 p.m. matchup in Nashville.
