There's No Place Like HomeThe Southeast Missouri volleyball team continues their five-game home stand Friday and Saturday when Ohio Valley Conference opponents SIUE and Eastern Illinois come to town. The Redhawks and Cougars face off Friday at 6:30 p.m. followed by a matchup with the EIU Panthers on Saturday at 5 p.m. Friday's match can be viewed for free on the OVC Digital Network.

Dual AdmissionFans in attendance to Friday's volleyball match will also receive admission to the Redhawks soccer match Friday evening. Redhawks soccer hosts Eastern Kentucky at Houck Stadium at 6:30 p.m.

Looking BackThe Redhawks split their road trip over the weekend as they fell to Eastern Kentucky Friday and defeated Morehead State Saturday. It was the first time since 2009 the Redhawks beat Morehead. The Redhawks returned home to begin a five-match home stand against in-state rival Missouri State. The Bears topped the Redhawks in three sets.

Building BlocksSince the start of OVC play this season, Southeast has vastly improved their blocking game. In six OVC games, Southeast is averaging 2.71 blocks per set as a team. Individually,
Nzingha Clarke and
Taylor Masterson have been forces to reckon with on the net. Clarke ranks second in OVC games with 1.27 blocks per set while Masterson is right behind with 1.21. The Redhawks are also holding their conference opponents to a .177 hitting percentage due in part to their blocking game.

1,000 Dig ClubSenior outside hitter
Andrea Baylin recorded her 1,000th career dig against Morehead State Saturday. Baylin ticked over the milestone during the third set against the Eagles. Baylin finished the match with 17 digs and nine kills.

Scouting the CougarsThe Cougars are currently sitting at 1-5 in conference play this season. Their sole OVC win came in five sets at Austin Peay last weekend. The Cougars fell to Murray State the next day in four sets.

Scouting the PanthersEastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri are two of four teams sitting at 2-4 going into the weekend. EIU has lost to Tennessee Tech, Jacksonville State, Belmont, and Murray State with wins over Austin Peay and SIUE. Over the weekend, setter Marah Bradbury dished out 109 total assists. Bradbury had 56 assists in the loss to Murray State before tallying 53 in EIU's five-set win over Austin Peay. Bradbury helped EIU to a .236 attack percentage as the Panthers out-hit the Racers & Lady Govs in both matches.

Records AgainstSIUE - 5-4Southeast holds a slight 5-4 advantage over the Cougars in the five seasons SIUE has been in the league. Last season, Southeast fell at home to SIUE in four sets then won on the Cougars' home court in five later in the season.
Eastern Illinois - 27-19-1Last season, the Redhawks split with EIU. Southeast won the conference opener over the Panthers in five sets at home then fell on the road in four. In the last decade, Southeast is 13-8 against EIU.

Dig For Life Southeast Missouri will wear pink jerseys all October long in support of Dig For Life. The Dig For Life campaign was started by former head volleyball coach and current Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator
Cindy Gannon to raise breast cancer awareness and promote early detection. Money raised through Dig For Life helps provide mammograms for women who otherwise cannot afford them.

Setting UpThe Redhawks will bring their five-match home stand to a close next weekend when they host Tennessee State and Belmont. The match against Tennessee State on Oct. 24 will be Survivor Night. The Redhawks will honor breast cancer survivors during intermission.
