Let's Review
The Redhawks traveled to Big Ten opponent Ohio State for the Sports Imports DC Koehl Classic last weekend. Southeast fell to Xavier (3-1) and No. 13 Ohio State (3-1) before taking a match from IUPUI (3-2) in comeback fashion. The Redhawks took third-place in the tournament with Colleen Yarber earning all-tournament team honors for the third time this season.

A Look Ahead
The Redhawks travel to Columbia, Mo. this weekend to take part in their final preseason tournament of the 2013 season. Southeast is slated to take on Towson, Middle Tennessee, Samford, and host-school Missouri in the two-day tournament.

Playing a Wall
Southeast Missouri leads the OVC in blocks with 83 (32 solo, 102 assisted). This comes after Taylor Masterson had a career-high 11 blocks against SIU at the Kansas State Tournament. Masterson leads the OVC in blocking (1.06 blocks/s). The Redhawks also rank second in digs (17.06 digs/s). Berkley Idel (4.42 digs/s) ranks in the top ten in digging.  Idel tied a career-high 29 digs against IUPUI on Sept. 14.

Scouting Trip
The UMKC Kangaroos are currently 5-5 this season. They play OVC opponent SIUE Tuesday night before coming to Southeast Missouri  Wednesday. They are currently winless on the road after falling at Arkansas (0-3) and Maryland (2-3). On Sept. 13, the 'Roos defeated OVC foe Eastern Illinois in three sets. As a team, UMKC trails the Western Athletic Conference in hitting percentage (.161) but leads in blocks (3.20 blocks/s) and ranks second in digs (16.14 digs/s). Three players rank in the top-five in blocks while two rank in the top-ten in digs. Emma Hagedorn leads the WAC in blocking with 1.54 blocks/s while Sydney Crimmins ranks second with 1.30 blocks/s. Taryn Miller is third in the league in digs with 4.95 digs/s.

Series History
Southeast holds a 6-1 advantage over UMKC all-time. Last season, however, UMKC blanked Southeast 3-0 at UMKC on Oct. 23.

Yankus at Home
Julie Yankus, now in her third season at the helm of the Redhawks, has garnered a 14-5 record at the friendly confines of Houck Field House. In home openers, she is 2-0; defeating Murray in 2011, 3-2, and UT Martin last season, 3-1.
