CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (2-4, 0-2) resumes Ohio Valley Conference action when it hits the road to face Jacksonville State (7-8, 2-0) Wednesday. Start time is set for 11 a.m., CT.
Southeast was initially scheduled to host the Gamecocks Sunday, but the match was shifted to Jacksonville due to impending inclement weather.
The Redhawks look to snap a two-match losing skid after opening league play with a 7-0 loss to Eastern Illinois (Mar. 16) and a 4-3 setback at SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 17).
Jessica Courtnell leads Southeast with a 5-1 dual singles record with four of her victories coming at the No. 4 position.
Nikole Novikova follows with four singles wins, all of which came at No. 3. Courtnell and Novikova are a combined 9-3 in singles play this season.
Meanwhile, JSU is on a three-match winning streak and has not allowed a point in that span. The Gamecocks beat Alabama A&M (Mar. 15), Belmont (Mar. 16) and Tennessee State (Mar. 17) by identical 7-0 scores. Zoe Bizinos, Raisa Guasti and Olivia Nguyen all have eight singles victories for JSU this season. Nguyen and Bizinos also have a team-best eight victories in doubles play.
Southeast lost each of its last five meetings with JSU and last beat the Gamecocks, 4-3, on Mar. 4, 2007.
