After defeating Detroit Friday evening, Southeast lost four straight games at the 2013 Blues City Classic, hosted by Memphis. The Redhawks tied for 11th place out of 12 teams. Taylor Cowan earned All-Tournament 2nd Team.
“Our goal this weekend was to get a lot of innings in and find areas of our game that are in need of improvement,” said head coach Lana Richmond. “We got the experience we wanted and were fully in the game in each of our three one-run losses. The areas we need to focus on now are our base running and outfield defense. Taylor Cowan pitched very well each time out, gaining a lot of much-needed confidence in the circle.”
