Weekend Outlook
After taking a weekend off, Southeast travels to Southaven, Miss. to participate in the Blues City Classic hosted by Memphis. The Redhawks will take on Detroit Mercy on Friday at 6 p.m.; Samford (4:00 p.m.) and Nicholls State (6:30 p.m.) on Saturday; Mississippi State (9:00 a.m.) and host-school Memphis (2:30 p.m.) on Sunday.

This Time Last Year
After winning the 2012 Mardi Gras Classic, the Redhawks traveled to Memphis and lost all five games of the 2012 Blues City Classic, which started a nine-game losing streak for Southeast, the longest of the season. Southeast fell to Miami (Ohio), Western Illinois, Northern Iowa, Missouri State, and host Memphis.
Last Time Out
Southeast opened the season Feb. 7 with a loss to Jackson State, 0-1. From there, the Redhawks traveled to Monroe, La. to participate in the Mardi Gras Classic hosted by the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The Redhawks swept Friday, Feb. 8, defeating Mississippi Valley, 3-2, and Grambling State, 6-3. Southeast fell on day two to host ULM, 1-5, and Northwestern, 0-8, in six innings.

Lana Richmond is in her 31st season as the head coach of the Redhawks. Coach Richmond's career record at Southeast is 860-647-2. She is currently on her way to capturing her 600th NCAA Division I victory (587-506-2). The five-time Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year currently ranks 40th in victories of all NCAA division head coaches.

The Redhawks will play host the No. 7 Missouri Tigers, Missouri State Bears, Saint Louis Billikens, and the UMKC Kangaroos in the three-day tournament to fight cancer. The All-Missouri Cancer Classic will be held March 1-3 at the Southeast Softball Complex. Southeast will take on Saint Louis (12:00 p.m.) and Missouri (2:00 p.m.) Friday, UMKC (12:00 p.m.) on Saturday, and Missouri State (2:00 p.m.) in the tournament finale on Sunday.
