Game Notes: Southeast Missouri | Missouri State
After taking a week off to take care of final exams, the Southeast Missouri State women's basketball team travels to Missouri State for an afternoon matinee Saturday at 2:05 p.m. The game features the Redhawks final nonconference game of the year.
The Redhawks last played Dec. 12, a 72-56 victory over Illinois-Springfield.
Allyson Bradshaw and
Patricia Mack each led Southeast with 12 points while
Kara Wright added 11.
Connor King came off the bench to secure a game-high nine rebounds as the Redhawks regained their winning form.

About Missouri State
The Bears enter Saturday's match-up 3-6 and riding a two-game win streak. Missouri State beat Lamar on Dec. 15 87-60 and followed that with a 67-53 victory over Missouri Thursday night.

Kenzie Williams leads Missouri State with 18 points per game and shots at a .434 clip. She leads teh team with 21 assists and is second with 15 steals. Tyonna Snow is second on the squad with a 11.2 point per game average. She leads the squad with 28 steals while Bry Snow is the leading rebounder at 5.1 per game.

In common opponents, Missouri State has played Arkansas and Missouri. The Bears fell 78-44 to Arkansas and beat Missouri 67-53. Against fellow OVC institution Eastern Kentucky, Missouri State fell 65-61.

The Redhawks own the second-best rebound margin in the OVC at +2.0. Southeast ranks first grabbing 70.2 percent of all defensive rebounds while ranking second on the other end of the floor, securing 34.8 percent of available offensive rebounds.

Preseason Accolades
After averaging 10.6 points in conference play (8.5 overall) as a freshman,
Kara Wright was voted onto the preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference team by the league's coaches and sports information directors. The Louisville, Ky., native is the lone underclassman on the preseason all-conference team. She earned a spot on the OVC All-Newcomer team, the first Redhawks to earn postseason All-OVC honors since the 2008-09 season.

Jordan Hunter has represented her country, New Zealand, in international competition. The most recent experience game in the qualifying round for the FIBA World Championships this past August.

Smarts On and Off the Court
The Southeast women's basketball team had the fourth highest GPA in NCAA Division I basketball last season. The Redhawks had a cumulative GPA of 3.546.

Looking ahead to 2014-15
Head coach
Ty Margenthaler announced Nov. 13 the signing of two student-athletes for the 2014-15 season. The Redhawks welcome Imani Johnson of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Kaley Leyhue of Martin, Tenn. Johnson enters her senior year of prep play as a two-time All-State honoree while Leyhue was named the Jackson Sun's Super Senior as she has drained 101 long-range baskets in high school
