CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. –
Natasha Minor scored in the 48th minute and the Southeast Missouri soccer team allowed only four shot attempts in a 1-0 win over Tennessee Tech on Sunday afternoon.

The victory is the Redhawks' second straight and improves them to 6-5-3 overall and 4-1-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play. TTU falls to 3-12-1 (1-5-1 OVC)

"We're still improving every game," Southeast head coach Heather Nelson said. "Our forwards are gaining more confidence and we hope we continue on this upward trend. We saw the best that Tech had because they needed a result to stay in the OVC Tournament hunt."

Southeast dominated the ball in the first half, but was unable to crack the scoreboard. The Redhawks outshot the Golden Eagles 9-1 in the opening frame, putting four of those on the goal. Jordan Brown turned aside every attempt, several of which came from in close.

The Redhawks wasted little time getting on the board after the break. Breana Beine found space down the left sideline and crossed a perfect feed to the head of Natasha Minor. Minor flicked the ball into the upper 90 for her fourth goal of the season, coming in the 48th minute of play, to put Southeast ahead 1-0.

"Tosh is getting better every week," Nelson said. "I'm excited about how quickly she is adapting to the roles we've thrown her way. Breana is becoming the player we envisioned. I was excited that she scored on Friday and she beat two defenders and had a very nice setup of Tosh today. We're hoping she can stay on this roll for us."

Southeast had a couple chances in the next 12 minutes, but a pair of shots were blocked by the TTU defense. The Golden Eagles started possessing the ball more in the final 30 minutes, outshooting the Redhawks 3-1 the rest of the way. Still, only one of its three second-half shots were on goal and that was stopped by Ashton Aubuchon.

The Redhawks outshot the Golden Eagles 13-4 and held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Minor took four of Southeast's 13 shots, scoring the lone goal.

Aubuchon posted her 20th-career solo shutout by stopping two shots. She now has 227-career saves, one shy of Lindsay Pickering's school record. In the other goal, Brown stopped four of the five shots that came her way.

Southeast continues its four-match home stand on Friday when it hosts SIU Edwardsville at 6:30 p.m.
