CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri volleyball team heads to Milwaukee, Wisc. to take part in the Panther Invitational. The Redhawks open up against MAC Preseason favorite Western Michigan at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Southeast will then face East Carolina at 4:30 p.m. The Redhawks close out tournament play with Horizon League favorite UW-Milwaukee at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Southeast will play two games on the Horizon League Network (Western Michigan and UW-Milwaukee).

Road Warriors
Southeast opens up the season with 16 contests away from the friendly confines of Houck Field House. The Redhawks play 32-matches in all in 2012 with nine matches being played in the friendly confines of Houck Field House.
Homecoming
Julie Folliard is a 2002 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukeee earning a bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus in finance and human resource management.
During her time at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Folliard was a steady performer for the Panthers volleyball team from 1998-2001. During Folliard's time she was part of the winningest class in school history going 93-23 in her four seasons. Folliard, excelled in the classroom earning Horizon League All-Academic Team in 1999 and 2001.
Opening Weekend
The Redhawks win over the Hawkeyes last Saturday was Southeast's first win over a Big Ten opponent since September 13, 2002 when Southeast defeated Purdue 3-1. Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference selection
Emily Coon was named Hawkeye Challenge MVP after recording 38 kills and 12 blocks.
Colleen Yarber and
Julie Shives were named to the All-Tournament team. Yarber finished with 47 kills and 56 digs. Shives recorded 146 assists and 49 digs.
Ohio Valley Conference Stats
Southeast leads the Ohio Valley Conference in digs after one week averaging 18.67 per set. Southeast ranks second in the OVC in blocks (2.0) and assists (11.67).
Preseason Polls
The Southeast Missouri volleyball team was picked third in the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll. The Redhawks received 192 points and two first place votes in this season's poll. Morehead State the defending OVC Champions were picked to win the league with 242 points and 22 first place votes. Newcomer Belmont was picked second with 198 points after winning the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2011.
