Stein went 1-for-2 with the Redhawks only RBI. Xia Wilson and Cheyenne Gipson were the only other Redhawks to record a hit.

Murray scored four runs of their own in the its half of the first inning. The first two came on a two-run homerun from Alexa Becker and the other two on a two-run double off the bat of Mandi Kellerman.

The Redhwks' bats came alive in the third inning. Renee Kertz knocked in her 40th RBI of the season on a double to left field to plate Sallis. Kertz came around to score on a Cowan single and an error. Lindsey Patterson followed that up with a two-run shot, her fourth of the season give the Redhawks a 5-4 lead on the Racers.

Once again, Murray had other thoughts. In its half of the third, MSU scored two back-to-back runs on an error and a sacrifice fly. Ellyn Troup homered to dead center field to put the Racers back in front by an 8-5 margin.

With two runners on in the fourth, Kertz singled to right to score Sallis. Cowan proceeded to hit a sacrifice fly to plate Gipson and narrow the deficit to a single run.

That was as close as Southeast would get the rest of the way. Murray plated two insurance runs in the sixth inning to secure the doubleheader sweep.
