Morehead State 3 Southeast Missouri 0 - Box Score

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Southeast Missouri volleyball team dropped their first match in Ohio Valley Conference play Friday evening falling to Morehead State 3-0 (24-26, 22-25, 18-25) in Morehead, Ky.
 
The Redhawks fall to 16-8 overall and 8-1 in the OVC as the Eagles improve to 17-6 overall and 9-0 in the OVC.
 
The Eagles took the first set 26-24 over the Redhawks. Morehead State trailed Southeast late in the set, but managed to take the frame on a 6-2 run.
 
Morehead State added 22 kills in the opening frame hitting .259. Southeast added 10 kills hitting .205.
 
The second set was a frame of runs as Southeast used a 9-2 run to take a 15-12 lead. Morehead State responded later in the frame with a 6-0 run to close the stanza as they took the set 25-22.
 
The Redhawks committed 10 errors in the second set hitting a match-low -.062.
 
The Eagles took the third set 25-18 as they hit a match-high .390 with 19 kills on their way to the win and the sweep.
 
Colleen Yarber led the Redhawks with a double-double adding 10 kills and 12 digs.
 
National Player of the Week Elle Roberson was held in check by the Redhawks with 11 kills hitting only .070. Aryn Bohannon added 12 kills for the Eagles
 
The Redhawks head to Eastern Kentucky tomorrow afternoon for a 1:00 p.m., CT. contest with the Colonels.
