CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. –
For the second time in as many weeks, the Southeast Missouri State soccer team (10-4-1, 6-1 Ohio Valley) clashes with OVC foe UT Martin (8-6-2, 3-3-1 OVC) when the two teams meet for a non-conference match on Friday night (6:30 p.m. CT) at Houck Stadium. Friday's match is the second of a season-ending four-match homestand for the Redhawks.

Last Week – Southeast inched closer to a regular season Ohio Valley Conference title when it won a tight road contest at UT Martin, 2-1. The Redhawks returned home for a non-league match against Big 12 opponent Iowa State and dropped a 2-0 decision to the Cyclones. Lauren Bozesky and Courtney Luehmann provided the offensive spark for Southeast in Friday's win at UT Martin as the Redhawks now have a league-best 18 points. Southeast leads Eastern Kentucky (13 points) by five points and Eastern Illinois (12 points) by six. Southeast and EKU each have two OVC matches remaining while EIU has three.

Scouting UT Martin – The Skyhawks dropped to fourth in the league standings after Southeast's win in Martin, Tenn., last Friday. Rosaelia Loza leads the Skyhawks with 19 points (eight goals, three assists) while Hannah McGowen paces the team with six assists and ranks second with 12 points. UT Martin has used two keepers this season, with Lauren MacKenzie seeing most of the time and sporting a 1.14 goals against average, .831 save percentage and three shutouts. Mariah Klenke has clocked over 600 minutes in goal and boasts a 1.30 goals against average with a .743 save percentage and one shutout.

All-Time Series – Southeast owns a 10-2-3 all-time record against UT Martin.

Last Meeting – Southeast scored a critical conference victory in its quest for a regular season OVC title with a 2-1 win at UT Martin last Friday. The Redhawks got first-half goals from Lauren Bozesky and Courtney Luehmann to go up 2-0. It appeared the Redhawks would stay in front by those two goals before Brooke Robertson drew the Skyhawks within 2-1 on a goal with 12 seconds remaining in the opening frame. UT Martin outshot Southeast by a 19-14 count, but placed only three of those attempts on goal as the Skyhawks were held to less than two goals for the fifth time in their last six matches.

Coming Through – Senior Lauren Bozesky has been a key cog in the Redhawks' attack the past couple weeks. After a slow start to the year, Bozesky has netted five goals and an assist for 11 points since the start of conference play, the best production in the OVC. Three of her five goals in league play have been game winners, which also leads all conference players.

Bringing the D – Southeast's bread and butter has been its stellar defensive play. The Redhawks boast a conference-best 0.79 goals against average and eight shutouts. The Redhawks' starting defense of Nikki Edwards (1355 minutes), Hayley Abbott (1255 minutes), Meg Herndon (1188 minutes) and Shona Goodwin (1012 minutes) have combined to play 4810 out of a possible 5480 minutes on the back line (87.8 percent of the minutes).

Magic Number is 2 – The key to Southeast's success has been the number two. The Redhawks' are a perfect 7-0 when they find the back of the net at least twice offensively. The number also applies to the back end as Southeast is an unbeaten 9-0-1 when allowing fewer than two goals.

Winning the Close Ones – The Redhawks have proven adept at making the critical play to win a tightly contest match this season. Seven of the Redhawks' 15 contests have been decided by one goal and Southeast boasts a 5-2 record in those contests. In fact, four of Southeast's last six contests have been one-goal matches, with the Redhawks posting a 3-1 record in those contests.

A Big Lift – Junior Courntey Luehmann got on the score sheet for the first time this season by netting the Redhawks' winning goal at UT Martin last Friday. Luehmann, a 2010 first-team All-OVC selection, has seen her playing time increase as she's closer to full recovery from an early season injury. She has started four of the last five matches and logged over 50 minutes in five straight contests.

Last Line of Defense – Sophomore goalkeeper Ashton Aubuchon is in range to make her mark on the Southeast single season record books this year. At 10 wins, Aubuchon is in a fifth-place tie on the school's single season list. Her six solo shutouts already tied her total as a freshman and rank fifth in school history. While the season is not done, her .850 save percentage and 0.69 goals against average rank third and fourth, respectively, on the Redhawks' single-season charts.

New Blood – Some of the newest members of the Redhawks are making the biggest impact on the scoresheet.  Freshman Erin Shulman (nine goals, 18 points) and senior transfer Jessie Crabtree (five goals, 12 points) pace the Southeast attack with a combined 14 goals and 30 points this season. Their offensive prowess has carried the Redhawks thus far as they are 7-0 when Shulman scores at least one goal and 4-0 when Crabtree records at least one point.
