Jade Mortimer helped the Redhawks close out the weekend with a win over Eastern Illinois to remain active in the OVC Tournament hunt. Behind her defensive leadership, the Redhawks were able to sweep EIU for the second time and earn their first road victory of the season. Mortimer registered 22 digs while also earning seven assists in Friday night’s match against SIUE. The following night, she posted a match-leading 25 digs (8.33 per set) in a short three-set contest against Eastern Illinois, tacking on an extra five assists in the process. Her total of 47 digs averaged for 6.71 digs per set throughout the weekend.
