Zoey Memmel notched a goal and an assist in the opening week of Southeast Missouri women’s soccer 2021 campaign. Memmel, a sophomore Milwaukee transfer from Grafton, Wisconsin, made her Redhawks debut on Aug. 19 at Memphis in the starting 11. She competed in 56 minutes in the regular-season opener before tallying three points (1g, 1a) in the Redhawks home-opening victory over Maryville on Sunday. Memmel assisted on Anne-Clara Couturier’s game-winning goal in the 72nd minute before adding an insurance tally in the 90th minute. Memmel found the back of the net for her first career goal as a Redhawk off a feed from Lauren Welker. Memmel concluded Sunday with a goal and an assist with a pair of shots on target in 57 minutes on the pitch. She finished the week with 103 minutes of action over the two games.
