Freshman right-hander Kyle Miller allowed only one run on two hits and notched a career-high 10 strikeouts to key Southeast Missouri's 10-1 Ohio Valley Conference Championship victory over Murray State on May 30. In his first career postseason start, Miller retired 12 of the first 13 hitters he faced against the OVC's leader in runs (375), hits (537), RBI (334) and home runs (84). MSU's only baserunner in that span reached on an error. He held the Racers scoreless through six innings of no-hit baseball until MSU scored its only run on two hits in the seventh. Miller also sat down 12-straight hitters prior to the Racers leadoff triple in the seventh inning. He improved to 4-2 this season following the outstanding performance. Additionally, the start marked Miller's fifth of the season. Miller, a 2021 OVC All-Freshman honoree, was also named to the 2021 OVC All-Tournament Team.
