Senior left-hander Dylan Dodd struck out eight and allowed only one walk to lead Southeast Missouri baseball to a season-opening 4-2 win over South Alabama (Feb. 19). A native of Danville, Illinois, Dodd moved to 2-1 in his career on opening day. He got stronger as the game went along en route to securing his first win of 2021. Dodd retired 12 of the last hitters he faced before giving way to Bryce Grossius in the seventh. He pitched back-to-back 1-2-3 innings in the fifth and sixth frames.
