Laney Malloy led the Redhawks offensively this week with 63 kills over four matches to produce a team high 68.5 points. Malloy averaged 19.3 kills per match at the Kangaroo Classic in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday and Saturday. She led Southeast in kills in all three tournament matches to earn all-tournament honors and is currently ranked sixth in the OVC, averaging 3.18 kills per set (124 total kills). Malloy posted 17 rally stoppers against Arkansas State on Friday and then added a career best of 22 on a .286 hitting percentage Saturday morning versus Providence. She then finished the tournament with 19 kills on a .405 hitting clip in SEMO’s match with UMKC. Malloy also recorded her second and third kill-dig double-doubles of her career as she had a personal best 16 digs to complement her 17 kills against ASU and then 11 digs along with 22 kills against Providence. She also was a presence at the net with five blocks over the four matches including three in the match with Providence.
