Carlos Vega pitched nine innings, allowing one unearned run, while striking out nine at Jacksonville State. His performance forced extra innings, where Southeast scored three times in the top of the 10th inning, going on to win 4-1 and helping Vega improve to 6-3 on the season and dropping his OVC-leading E.R.A. to 1.64. After JSU scored its unearned run in the fifth inning, Vega retired 12 of the final 16 batters he faced, allowing four singles down the stretch, before making way for the bullpen in the bottom of the 10th.
