In two games, Thompson averaged 22.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game over the week. She led the team in scoring both games, starting by pouring in 22 points in a 56-59 loss to Morehead State. In the following game Thompson scored a career-high tying 23 points to go along with a career-high six steals to help lead Southeast to a 69-55 win over Eastern Kentucky. For her efforts Thompson was named the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for the second time, the league announced Tuesday morning. Thompson was also named the Madness Ohio Valley Player of the Week.
