2017 Southeast Missouri Football Biographical Sketches
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - A total of 34 players signed National Letters of Intent to play football at Southeast Missouri in 2017.
The 2017 class, which marks the largest under head coach
Tom Matukewicz, includes players representing eight different states. This year's signees also include 12 mid-year transfers who enrolled at Southeast this semester and will go through spring drills. The Redhawks added 10 players from Missouri, eight from Mississippi, six from Florida, three from Kentucky, two from Georgia, Tennessee and Illinois, and one from Kansas.
"We wanted to bring some players in at semester that can have an instant impact on our team," said Matukewicz. "We were able to add 12 recruits that will now be able to go through spring ball. We also had some really high level high school kids with multiple offers choose to be Redhawks. Our coaches did a great job early of identifying recruits that are a great fit here. This helped us go head-to-head with other institutions and win for the first time since I have been here."
