        Michael Runde joins the Southeast Missouri volleyball staff as an assistant coach for the 2015 season. Runde will coach setters, assist with recruiting, coordinate travel, scout opponents, and assist with video analysis and breakdown. 

    Runde most recently spent two years at the University of South Dakota as a graduate assistant coach. Runde helped guide the Coyotes to back-to-back 19-win seasons. The Coyotes went 9-5 in the Summit League in 2013 then posted a 12-4 conference record a season ago. Runde mentored Kendall Kritenbrink, the 2013 Summit League Player of the Year, in his first season with the Coyotes. In total, seven Coyote players earned All-Summit League honors during his tenure.

    Runde earned his graduate degree in Sport Management while at South Dakota. 

     A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Runde was the head coach for the Iowa Rockets Volleyball Club based in Iowa City from 2009 to 2012. He led the club to three USA Volleyball National Championship appearances. Along with coaching the Rockets, he spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons as a manager for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

     Runde graduated from Iowa in 2013 with a degree in Sports and Recreation Business.
