Southeast Missouri State University Athletics

Adrian Byrd enters his first season with Southeast as a volunteer assistant coach. He is a PTR Certified Tennis Instructor and USRSA Certified Racquet Stringer with thorough knowledge and experience in both. Byrd is also a Certified Cardio Tennis Instructor and has worked with several top ranked Jr. players in Indiana, Georgia, and Texas. Along with instructing, he has also organized many professional tennis events for participants such as Monica Seles, Pete Sampras, and Robbie Genepri.

Byrd brings plenty of experience in tennis and recreation with him as well. Starting off in August of 1997, he worked as a Recreation Assistant at the Carver Recreation Center in Kokomo, Ind. His next sport-related job came in January 2006 when he became a Teaching Pro at Independent in Atlanta, Ga. Most recently, Byrd served as a Head Tennis Pro / MIT at the PGA Tour Superstore in Dallas, Texas.

Byrd is originally from North Carolina and received his Associates in Science from Lees McRae College in Elk, N.C. in June 1993. While there, he received scholarships for both tennis and basketball.
