Biography

2002: Stephanie will once again be a co-captain along with Michelle Walker. She will be competing as an All-Arounder again and will look to unveil a new floor routine.

2001: During the regular season, Furman finished first ten different times, including five times on vault, four times on beam and won the All-Around at Ball State on March 17 with a score of 38.375. She also had the seventh highest beam score of all time at Southeast with a 9.9.

2000: Last year[apos]s individual performance as a vault specialist at the NCAA Regionals has motivated Furman to encourage the entire team to set a goal of earning a trip to Regionals as a team. Stephanie was named co-captain for the 2001 season and Gymanst of the Year in 2000.

Club: Competed for Knoxville Gymnastics Training Center ... coached by Boo Dean, Jim Williams, Jeana Lane and Jeanne Potter ... won state championship at Level 9 and 10 ... qualified for regionals every year as an optional.

Personal: Born 6-11-80 ... daughter of Bob and Ginny Furman ... majoring in Athletic Training ... attended Knoxville Catholic High School ... was a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta ... also competed in track & field where she won the [apos]Best Sprinter[apos] award ... also recruited by Radford University ... brother Rudy is a cheerleader for UT-Chattanooga.
