Biography

Season Outlook: As one of three captains on the squad, Jacklyn will lead by example, as she should have an outstanding routine for the floor and beam.

2002: Jacklyn has recovered well from her shoulder surgery. She will look to compete on bars, beam and floor this season. The potential for bar this year is tremendous.

2001: Jacklyn underwent shoulder surgery last spring, which caused a longer delay in her return to training than originally anticipated.

Club: Competed for Capitol Gymnastics ... coached by Barry Hyder and Jim and Cheryl Jarrett ... named Outstanding Gymnast in 1994 and 1995 ... Gymnast of the Year in 1997 ... Level 9 bars and all-around champion in 1997.

Personal: Born 9-17-81 ... daughter of Jack and Cheryl Doebbler . . . major is undecided . . . attended Westlake High School ... member of National Honor Society ... also recruited by Texas Women[apos]s University, San Jose State, Brigham Young and Rhode Island.

Q & A With Jacklyn Doebbler

At what age did you start gymnastics? 3 years old
How did you become involved in gymnastics? I was in Mom and Tot gymnastics.
What is your favorite event? Why? Beam, because I feel comfortable on it. I can do my own thing.
Why did you choose Southeast for gymnastics? I always wanted to do college gymnastics. I went to a meet and liked it here.
What has been your most memorable moment gymnastics moment at Southeast? Going to the beach when we went to Santa Barbara, Calif.

If I had to be one animal, it would be... a frog

Longest time I've spent in a chalk tray is... "I miss talking in the chalk bucket."
10 years from now I see myself... working in radiology in a hospital.
Something you may not know about me is... I've had as many surgeries as I've had state license plates (5).
I do gymnastics because... I have withdraws from not being up-side-down.
