Lavesa Glover is in her first year as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Southeast Missouri State University. A former professional player and NCAA Division I student-athlete, Glover coaches the Redhawks post players, plays a key role in recruiting and serves as the team’s social media coordinator in addition to many other day-to-day duties within the program.
Glover joined Southeast after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Valley City State University in North Dakota, where she was part of a program that set a school record with 24 wins in 2012-13 and advanced to the NAIA national tournament. She was responsible for developing post players and mentored an honorable mention All-American. Glover also served as the program’s interim head coach during a transitional period.
Prior to her stint at Valley City, Glover was the coordinator of basketball operations at UW-Milwaukee (2011-12), assisting in all administrative phases of the program. She also served as a summer camp commissioner at Marquette.
Glover played collegiately at Wisconsin-Green Bay (2005-09), where she was an All-Horizon League selection as a junior and senior. She led the Phoenix in scoring as a senior for a team that went undefeated in conference play, won the league title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Glover finished with 1,054 career points and still holds the school record for field goals made in a game with 17 against Wright State in a 34-point effort during her junior season.
After earning her bachelor's degree in Electronic Media/Communications from UW-Green Bay, Glover played professionally in Australia, Poland and Finland. A native of Miami, Fla., Glover was named Miami Herald Athlete of the Year after leading Miami Dade Christian to a runner-up finish in the 2005 Florida High School Athletic Association Class 2A championship.
