Biography

2003: An emerging talent for the Otahkians, Van Velkinburgh demonstrated a great amount of potential on the mound with four wins...recording a 3.35 ERA... had a great second-half of the season recording two major starting victories against Morehead State (4.18) with only five hits and no earned runs in four innings of work...and Tennessee-Martin (4.26) pitching 5.2 innings with five hits, three earned runs and no walks...earned a perfect fielding percentage with 17 assists and one putout.

Prep: Cor Jesu Academy graduate ... coached by Marianne Haberstroh ... four year All-District and All-Conference selection ... three-year All-Metro selection... also named All-State her senior year... four-time team MVP.

Personal: Born 5-8-84 ... daughter of Chuck and Diane Van Velkinburgh ... names Cardinal[apos]s Mike Matheney as her favorite professional athlete... biggest sports thrill was striking her sister out her senior year in high school en route to a perfect game in sectional playoffs... 2002-03 OVC Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll... two-year Southeast Scholar Athlete ... major is currently undecided.
