She can throw a strike anywhere at anytime in the count, making batters earn a base. Jess[apos]s unique style continually has opponent[apos]s timing off balance. 2003: Southeast[apos]s most effective hurler in 2003, started 19 games for the Otahkians... posting the squad[apos]s lowest ERA (2.44) with a 7-10 overall record... led the team in innings pitched (106.1), complete games (5) and led the OVC in appearances (34)... also placed in the top ten in the OVC in wins, innings pitched, appearances, saves, games started and shutouts... struck out 41 batters... recorded a stellar performance against Tennessee State (3.29) tossing a complete game shutout, striking out seven and walking only one in a 4-0 Southeast victory.... lifted the Otahkians to another shutout victory against Tennessee-Martin by posting a 2.35 ERA in a full seven innings, giving up only six hits and three walks.

Community College: Competed at Rend Lake Community College in Ina, Ill. ... a member of the All-Tournament Team ... also named All-Regional and All-Conference in 2002.

Prep: Attended Benton High School ... played for coach Harben Tockstein ... named All-Conference in 2000 and Second Team All-Conference in 1998 ... also an accomplished volleyball player.

Personal: Born 8-21-82... daughter of Fred and Lynnette Hunter... named to 2002-03 OVC Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll... two-year Southeast Scholar Athlete... majoring in health management.
