Stephanie Winter is in her second year as an assistant coach with the Southeast Missouri softball program. Winter is in charge of the outfielders and serves as the Redhawks recruiting coordinator.

Winter, who hails from the St. Louis area, was an assistant coach the last two years at Saint Louis University. SLU achieved the best Atlantic-10 record in its 10 years in the conference, finished second in the A-10 in 2014, had six A-10 Tournament selections, four A-10 All-Academic honorees, four A-10 Rookie team picks and two First-Team A-10 performers with Winter on staff.

Prior to SLU, Winter worked two years as an assistant at Upper Iowa, where she served as the Peacocks’ camp director, managed academics and planned the team’s community service events in addition to her on-field responsibilities.

Winter began her full-time coaching career as an assistant at Northern Iowa, where she was a member of the 2009 Missouri Valley Conference softball Coaching Staff of the Year. She helped guide the Panthers to a pair of MVC Tournament appearances and oversaw the program’s camps. UNI set a school record in MVC wins, had 10 All-MVC selections, four MVC All-Academic honorees and two State Farm Good Neighbor award-winners during the time Winter was there.

Winter played four seasons at the University of Michigan, where she was a member of the Wolverine teams that won the 2005 national championship, reached the 2004 Women’s College World Series, competed in four NCAA regionals and three super regionals, and won four Big Ten Conference titles. She garnered Academic All-Big Ten accolades three times and was a four-time recipient of Michigan’s academic achievement award.

A 2008 Michigan graduate with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, Winter was a student assistant coach at her alma mater during the 2008 campaign. She recently received her master’s degree in human performance from Lindenwood University.
