Kerry Shaw sets to begin his first season as an assistant coach with the Southeast Missouri softball program. Shaw will primarily work with the infielders and hitters.
Shaw, who has 20-plus years of experience, comes to Southeast after working as the head softball and baseball coach at Odessa High School.
A native of Bates City, Mo., Shaw has provided over 20 years of instruction to female fastpitch players and has directed and worked numerous collegiate and high school camps/clinics in softball and baseball. He was also an assistant baseball coach at Missouri Western State College in 1992-93.
 
In addition to his coaching and teaching tenure, Shaw enjoyed a successful playing career. He played two years for the USA Men's Fastpitch team and spent four seasons in minor league baseball with the San Francisco Giants organization (1988-91).
 
Shaw earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education at Missouri Western State College in 1993.
