Aubrie (Brie) Carmack is in her second year as an assistant coach at Southeast Missouri.

Carmack coaches first base and oversees Southeast’s outfielders.

A native of Monroe, Michigan, Carmack joined the Redhawks after spending one season at Bucknell University. Prior to that, she worked as an assistant coach at Division III member of the USA South Athletic Conference Covenant College. Before Covenant, Carmack worked at fellow Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Illinois as a graduate assistant for two years. During her time at EIU, the Panthers won the 2013 OVC title and finished the 2014 campaign with a 38-17 overall record.

Carmack began coaching as a student assistant at her alma mater, Jacksonville University. The Dolphins finished an outstanding 2011 campaign with a 15-game winning streak to capture both the Atlantic Sun regular-season and tournament titles. JU set new program records for wins (44) and home victories (22), and competed in the Gainesville, Florida NCAA Regional versus UCLA, Bethune-Cookman, and the host Gators.

As a student-athlete at JU, Carmack was able to put together two successful seasons for the green and gold despite battling injuries during her athletic career. Her best season came in 2009 as the infielder finished second on the team in doubles (6) and third in RBI (17) through 44 games.

Utilized mainly as a pinch-hitter in 2010, Carmack saw action in 32 contests, and off the field, received A-Sun all-academic honors twice and NFCA all-academic team accolades.

As a prep, Carmack was a three-year starter at Florence Christian High School in Florence, South Carolina under coach John Brown, where she helped the Eagles win consecutive state championships during her sophomore and junior seasons. She also nabbed first-team all-state and all-region honors as a senior.

Carmack graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from JU in 2011. She is presently working on her master’s in sports administration.
