David Potter is in his second year as a graduate manager at Southeast Missouri.

A native of Severn, Maryland, Potter played four seasons at Clemson University from 2006-10. He appeared in all 32 games and made 30 starts at the small forward position as a senior in 2009-10. That year, Potter ranked second on the team with 48 three-point field goals and averaged a career-best 23.9 minutes per game. He also ranked fourth on the team with 41 steals and turned in nine double-digit scoring performances.

Potter was a steady player and dependable defender, helping lead the Tigers to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances for only the second time in school history. He played in all 134 games of his career, improving his scoring and rebounding averages each season with the program. Potter finished his career with 637 points (4.8 ppg) and 99 steals. He earned Clemson’s Defensive Player-of-the-Year Award as a senior and was the recipient of the Tom Lynch Award as the team’s most improved player his sophomore season.

Potter joined the NBA D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers (affiliate of the Houston Rockets) following his college career. He then played overseas with Naglis Palangos in Lithuania.

In high school, Potter rated as the nation’s No. 119 prospect according to Rivals.com and was a top 150 player according to Prepstars. Hoop Scoop ranked him as the No. 51 fifth-year senior in the country. Potter averaged 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals per game as a senior. He played at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida his final three prep seasons.
