Padilla[apos]s Career Statistics

2006: 1st Team All-OVC Selection...Leads all 2007 returnees in games played (55), games started (53), average (.340), at bats (203), hits (69), runs (42), doubles (18), home runs (4), total bases (99), on-base percentage (.428), sacrifice bunts (8), and stolen bases (9)... Started 35 games as the leadoff hitter and hit .374 with a .449 OBP out of that spot...Excelled against conference opponents, leading the team with a .368 batting average...Recorded the team-long hitting streak of 11 games (May 6-24)...Also led the team with 24 multiple hit games... Recorded two seven-game streaks of scoring at least one run each game (April 1-8, May 19-26)...Hit by a pitch 14 times, one shy of the Southeast record set by Charlie Marino in 1998...Committed nine errors at second base and was a part of 24 double plays...First multi-hit game came against Indiana State on March 4, he was 3-6 with three doubles...Hit his first career home run was a solo shot against South Dakota State on March 11...Drove in a season-high three RBIs in a 2-4 day at the plate at Saint Louis on April 4...Tied a Southeast record with seven at bats against Samford on April 15, but was 0-7 at the plate...Scored three times on May 6 against Eastern Kentucky while also recording a season-high four hits (4-5)...Had a multi-hit performance in five consecutive games between May 13 and May 19 (game one)...Tied his season-best three runs on May 14 at Morehead State...Went 3-6 at the plate in the opening round win over Eastern Illinois in the OVC Baseball Tournament...Hit .270 in the summer as the starting second baseman for the Peninsula Oilers of the Alaska Baseball League.

Santa Rosa JC: Starting second baseman for the 2005 California JUCO State Championship team...twice named 1st team All-BVW...in 2005, hit .318 and shared team lead with five home runs...led team with 157 at bats...struck out just eight times...second in both RBIs (26) and runs scored (30).

Prep: 2002 graduate of Tomales High School in Tomales, Calif....named league MVP...earned 1st team All-Conference honors...also named league MVP for soccer.

Personal: Born 7-6-83...son of Carmelo and Gloria Padilla...General Studies major at Southeast...hobbies include fishing, hunting and video games...favorite food is Mexican...favorite athlete is Barry Bonds...was also recruited by UCLA, Hawaii, Northern Colorado, Alcorn State and Texas-Pan American.
