Joe Migliaccio

Joe Migliaccio joins the Southeast Missouri coaching staff in 2016 as the Redhawks’ volunteer assistant coach. Migliaccio’s main responsibilities include defensive development of the position players as well as assisting with the offense.
 
Migliaccio comes Southeast after a stint with Siena College in Loudonville, New York. He served as the volunteer assistant during the 2015 season and was promoted to the second assistant the following June. Migliaccio was responsible for all positions players’ defensive work and also assisted with the offense. His work with the defense led to the third-highest fielding percentage in program history (.963) and finished the season leading the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in fielding percentage in league-only games (.976.)
 
He implemented new catching a defensive development programs while at Siena. In 2015, the infield completed conference games with a .981 fielding percentage, committing only eight errors, which was an improvement from .958 (21 errors) the previous season. During the complete season, the infield recorded a .967 fielding clip, committing 24 fewer errors than the previous season.
 
The catching defensive program he helped implement saw the catchers throw out 37% of all base stealers, an improvement of 18% from the year before.
 
Migliaccio spent the summer of 2014 serving as an assistant coach for the Liberal Bee Jays of the Jayhawk Collegiate League where he was in charge of working with hitters and infielders on a daily basis.
 
A successful collegiate career that started at Florida International University in 2009. He redshirted his freshman season then transferred to Parkland College (Illinois). He hit .324 in two seasons reaching safely on 106 hits, blasted six home runs, and collected 28 doubles in two seasons.
 
Migliaccio then transferred to Oral Roberts University where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Recreation Administration and a minor in Humanities in 2014. Migliaccio saw time at shortstop, second base, and third base at ORU and batted .455 in the 2013 Southland Conference Tournament.
