What happens if a fan shows up to the venue with a bag that does not meet these standards?
Fans will be asked to return the items to their vehicle. Fans will not be allowed to enter the venue with a bag that does not meet the clear bag policy.
 
Are all non-clear bags prohibited?
Small clutches or purses that do not exceed 4.5” x 6.5” are allowed. Any non-clear bag that is larger than these dimensions will not be allowed to enter the venue.
 
What about diaper bags?
All contents that you would normally put in a diaper bag must be carried in a clear bag. Each member of the family, including children, is allowed to carry an approved clear bag and clutch into the stadium.
 
Can I bring my stadium chairback into the venue?
Fans are allowed to bring in their own stadium chairback into the venue. Chairbacks with zippers or pockets are not permitted. They must be 18” or less in width.
 
May I bring in multiple clear bags?
No. Fans are allowed one (large) clear bag – either a one-gallon clear resealable plastic bag or a 12”x 6” x 12” clear bag, plus one (small) clutch.
 
Are items (smartphones, tablets, cameras, binoculars, etc.) allowed to be carried in separately from your clear bag?
Yes. All these items may be carried in by hand, separate from your clear bag. Carrying cases for these items that do not meet these size restrictions are not permitted.
 
Are blankets allowed in cold weather?
Yes. Fans will be allowed to bring in blankets by simply tossing them over their shoulder or arm.
 
Why has SEMO adopted a clear bag policy?
The clear bag policy was implemented to improve safety for fans at SEMO Athletics events.
 
How does this policy improve public safety?
Clear bags are easily searched and reduces the possibility of a faulty bag search significantly. It also supports the Department of Homeland Security’s “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign.
 
Do other venues have clear bag policies?
Yes. There have been a variety of clear bag policies that have been adopted across all major sport leagues, event venues, and many colleges. There are even venues that do not permit bags of any kind to enter. Our clear bag policy is consistent with those found at SIU Carbondale, Illinois State, Central Arkansas.
