CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – In the final edition of the OVC weekly awards, the Southeast Missouri Track and Field teams claimed four awards, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Cole Reinders claimed OVC Male Track Athlete of the Week,
Sullivan Gleason secured Male Field Athlete of the Week,
Anna Thomason earned Female Track Athlete of the Week and
Alyssa Repke took Female Freshman of the Week.
Reinders, a senior from Sarnia, Ontario, competed at the Billy Hayes Invite where he competed in the invite heat of the 800m and ran a 1:48.74 to finish sixth.
Gleason, a senior from St. Peters, Missouri, competed in the pole vault at the Sycamore Open where he finished third overall after clearing 16-5.5.
Thomason, a senior from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, competed at the Sycamore Open and finished second in both the prelims and the finals in the 100m hurdles. Her prelim time was 13.55 before she returned to the final and went 13.70.
Repke, a freshman from Augusta, Missouri, set two personal best marks at the Sycamore Open when she reached 149-2 in the discus to finish fourth along with a new best in the hammer throw of 177-9 to finish fifth.
The squads are traveling to the OVC Championships which start Thursday in Little Rock, Arkansas.
